With a large family dinner coming up for Thanksgiving, I always rely on recipes to get my dinner right. And to get a recipe right - its very important to have an accurate kitchen weighing scale. This Smart Weigh 11lb/5kg Electronic Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale is just perfect for that.

My Opinion of the product:-

This scale has precision to be a kitchen scale (it measures in individual Grams), and the range (up to 11 pounds) to function as a shipping scale.


Comes in a choice of Black/Silver/red plastic housing ( I have the Black, and it's attractive but inconspicuous on my counter). The round weighing platform is mirror-bright stainless steel. The entire housing is extremely smooth and streamlined and easy to clean if you have any spills.

Uses two standard AAA batteries. Since you only use the unit for a few seconds at a time, the batteries will last a long time before needing to be replaced.

Weighing is extremely fast, you get a precise reading instantly. Choice of Metric or Pound/Ounce measurements, with fractions. It's easy to switch back and forth. There's a Tare function also.

The LCD display is large, clear and easy to read. Everything about this scale is refreshingly well designed. And yes, you can weigh something that's a fraction of an ounce, and then weigh a 10 pound ham, and get accurate results on each.

I have another scale, a postal scale, that's only designed for a maximum of 2 pounds. The 11-pound range on this Smart Weight scale makes it far more versatile.
